{"rfam": {"acc": "RF00027", "id": "let-7", "description": "let-7 microRNA precursor family", "comment": "This family represents the microRNAs (miRNA) let-7 and mir-98. let-7 was identified from a study of developmental timing in C. elegans [1], and was later shown to be part of a much larger class of non-coding RNAs termed miRNAs [2]. Both miRNAs let-7 and mir-98 have now been predicted or experimentally confirmed in a wide range of species (MIPF:MIPF000002). miRNAs are transcribed as ~70nt precursors (modelled here) and subsequently processed by the Dicer enzyme to give a ~22nt product. The extents of the hairpin precursors are not generally known and are estimated based on hairpin prediction. The products are thought to have regulatory roles through complementarity to mRNA. The involvement of Dicer in miRNA processing suggests a relationship with the phenomenon of RNA interference. This family also includes the miR-98 precursor from human, which may be a let-7 homologue. The pre-miRNA structure of let-7 has been reported in complex with Dicer-TRBP [3]. Family represents miRNA precursor let-7 imported from miRBase [4].", "curation": {"author": "Griffiths-Jones SR, Daub J, Ontiveros-Palacios N", "seed_source": "Griffiths-Jones SR", "num_seed": 64, "num_full": 8694, "num_species": 797, "type": "Gene; miRNA;", "structure_source": "Predicted; RNAalifold"}, "cm": {"build_command": "cmbuild -F CM SEED", "calibrate_command": "cmcalibrate --mpi CM", "search_command": "cmsearch --cpu 4 --verbose --nohmmonly -T 30.00 -Z 2958934 CM SEQDB", "cutoffs": {"gathering": 53.5, "trusted": 53.5, "noise": 53.4}}, "release": {"date": "2026-01-16", "number": "15.1"}, "clan": {"acc": "CL00148", "id": "let-7"}}}
